A neighborhood—like many of those that are self-built in Latin America—is the focus of analysis and discussion. The characteristic of not being built from a project, but instead having very marked project lines is what is put in the center. Its way of evolving over time, with the constant improvement of the homes and the stretch of street in front; the way of beautifying the public space, as if it were the house itself; or the immense elasticity and depth of the street area, of the public, which is inserted in different ways in the shops on the ground floor; These are just some of the characteristics that represent it and that are now unusual in new construction projects that are carried out in an "organized" manner in the rest of the city.
